wow… those highlights are pretty awesome. i only saw the sophemore tape as well and he looked okay, but he’s a serious dual threat qb judging by the junior film. not only is he quick, he can actually throw!

It’s huge. Allen loved Hackett, and he’s going to be spreading the love for the Cuse down there. It is only one, and now SU has to TRY and establish a pipeline down there, if we can even call it a pipeline at this point.

Russell:
Watch the tape. Who cares about the 2-stars, the kid can flat out run. And ran the option really well for just his first year of using that offense. And by the way, rivals just updated him to 3-star, AND ranked him as 22nd best dual-threat QB in entire class of 2013. I never like to make too much of rankings either, but can’t dismiss those stats.

Have been wondering the same thing, valid thought to have a t this point. Stay tuned…will be talking with A. Wilson soon. (Quick tidbit, Wilson’s only other offer was to Eastern Michigan)

Look no further. Here are his Junior year highlights. Don’t go by soph year…he was in an entirely different offense. Sky is limit for him in year 2 of spread offense this fall.

I’ll tell you right now, SU has a plan for this kid. He’s given me that indication. Allen reiterated on Fizz Radio this morning, coaches told him he could be a four year starter. They love his ability to run and gun in that spreas offense.

Rivals has all 3 of them rated 3 stars with Provo rated # at FB and Austin Wilson as the 22nd rated QB in the class of 2013.

* Good job coaches…both Qbs are upgrades/ if not on par with recent seasons. With Provo and Dt…..SU has an EARLY recruiting grade..similar to recent seasons(#50-#55 nationally ), but the talent of the 1st four recruits is an obvious upgrade. 4 of 4 are @ the very least 2star athletes. Keeping up this trend would produce HCDMs best recruiting class to date….

All those quotes from Austin Wilson about him being Syracuse’s #1 QB priority seem kinda funny now. Wilson’s tape looks alright, but Allen’s run/pass versatility make him extremely intriguing. I’d love to see film of his junior year as I’ve only seen his Soph year though.

Weather or not Zach turns into anything, I think the biggest takeaway is that Syracuse has signed a player from Texas. It goes without saying that it is one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the nation.

Best case scenario is that Zach has a great experience year one and his coach and him spread the word to others back in Texas. Much like the in-house recruiting the Brooklynites have done over the past two years perhaps Zach can bring in his own Texas contingency.
