Biggest Storylines for Syracuse Hoops?

About 80 degrees here in the 315 usually doesn't signify basketball season, but it is right around the corner

Syracuse host Lemoyne on Monday in their season opener, and there is so much to talk about with this team

But what I think is the most particularly interesting storyline heading in is the young talent

You got Donnie Freeman, who's probably one of the most highly touted recruits since Carmelo Anthony

on this campus, making his debut projected to be a top 20 pick, according to Bleacher Report

earlier today. You've got Elijah Moore coming in to run the point. You got Peter Meyer

Storovich playing the center position backing up, Eddie Lampkin, who I think is going to be the

biggest X factor heading into this season with his size and his experience at Colorado

paired with Chris Bell, JJ Starling. This team has potential to do some big things

Another important thing to note for this Syracuse team this year is the non-conference schedule

You start out with Le Moyne, you face Colgate, a team that Syracuse has notoriously struggled with the past few seasons, Youngstown State, and then you got some really big matchups down the stretch

You got to play Notre Dame. You got to play Texas. You got to play Tennessee. You even got to play, I believe, Maryland at the Barclays Center, which will be a particularly interesting matchup

So Syracuse has a very interesting path this year if they want an opportunity to compete in the ACC
