Will Syracuse Accept a Bid to the NIT?

Well that does it, Syracuse Men's Basketball's ACC tournament run comes to an end really

right as it starts falling to NC State in the second round, 83-65

I'm Adam Gotkin and just a really rough game today for Syracuse

The immaturity of this team really showed, the turnovers, an issue all throughout

The issues that this team saw all throughout the season and a lot of the losses, you think

back to the losses at Duke, at North Carolina, at Lake Forest, the issues that hurt this

team all throughout the year really hurt the Orange when it mattered most today

Now the big question, is this team going to accept a bid into the NIT

Will it even get offered to play in the NIT most likely? To be honest, I don't think anyone understands what the current NIT looks like

They did change the format this year. It's based on net rankings, the top net ranked home teams get home games

Of course, Syracuse, not good in the net rankings, but I saw something that said the Orange probably

has a 95% chance to make the NIT, so we should expect some more basketball

And Adrian Autry said that he will accept the bid because he thinks it's important to

play postseason basketball. Of a different answer from Syracuse in the locker room, Chris Bell was asked about it

after the game, so was JJ Starling, and they both said, you know, it's kind of weird

You want to play in the NCAA tournament, you want to play the postseason basketball that

really does mean the most. The NIT doesn't really mean that much. Of course, the joke is, what does the NIT stand for

Not in tournament. But I do think that this team will take a bid, and because of some of that immaturity

that we've seen, I think that it's something that could really help Syracuse out, help

them out going into the future because this is a young squad, a sophomore-led team

Everyone who played today is a sophomore, except for Peter Carey who's, you know, not

a sophomore, but he's a retro freshman. So we'll really see what happens with this team moving forward

A lot of bright spots, there's the freshman coming in next year with Elijah Moore and

Donnie Freeman, but we'll see. It should be an exciting couple months, an exciting offseason, the first real true offseason

that Adrian Autry has with the transfer portal. Anything is possible nowadays in college sports

So we'll see. If they do make the NIT, we'll have all the coverage on orangeviz.net, and even if not
