What's up Orange Fizz Nation, Alex Burstein here at the JMA Wireless Dome
0:04
after the Orange get a 42-14 win over Holy Cross to improve to 3-1 on
0:09
the season. I'm gonna give you a quick wrap up, the good, the bad, and the question marks hang into the rest of the season for Syracuse. The good today, you
0:17
look at someone like Jackson Meeks, career high in receptions and receiving
0:21
yards, had too much time to go with it after the game in the press conference
0:25
just said he was so locked in today and his connection with Kyle McCourt has
0:28
really grown in the last couple of weeks. Meeks, a standout, another big
0:32
standout today, King Joseph Edwards, the true freshman rusher, came in the fourth
0:37
and had three sacks, big-time play of King Joseph Edwards. While there was the
0:43
positives, also some things that didn't go so well today for Syracuse. You look
0:47
at the rushing defense as a whole, they didn't have a sack until the fourth
0:51
quarter against the Holy Cross team that doesn't have the greatest offensive line
0:55
but they were able to bobble up Syracuse for most of the game today. Another big
1:00
negative is the special teams. Another performance from Syracuse that they wish they could forget, 0-3 on field goals including a doink from Jaden O
1:08
in his first field goal attempt from the year and also two big punt returns
1:12
brought back because of penalties, some more severe consequences for the Orange
1:17
and then a couple of things that were iffy today, you look at the play of Kyle McCourt, he had another four touchdown game but had a pair of interceptions and
1:25
didn't really have the coverage from his offensive line that would have made
1:28
him be able to make some more throws. It was his career high in passing yards at
1:32
385 but still a lot of question marks of Kyle McCourt and then also the rushing
1:37
game with Quinn Allen and Co had a better game than last week against
1:40
Stanford, Will Nixon back and you see Will is in the mix but they still threw
1:45
the ball 50 times, not as many rushing opportunities than you would have
1:49
expected with this Syracuse team. So a lot of question marks but Syracuse does
1:53
come out with the win 42-14
