Where is Syracuse in the ACC Preseason Poll?

What's up Fizz Nation, Dan Schallum with you to break down Syracuse being ranked 12th in the ACC media poll

My colleague Alex Spursteen talked about this a couple days ago. But I'm going to talk to you guys about how Syracuse should be higher than the teams above them

and who the teams above them are in this poll that some fans aren't too happy with

Those two teams in particular are Cal and Georgia Tech. A couple of squads that you really wouldn't think should be above the orange

but our Georgia Tech comes in at number 9 and it's hard for this squad to be above Syracuse

as the Yellow Jackets finished 7-6 last season. Sure, they finished 4th in the ACC. Also had a 31-22 win against Syracuse

But their overall recruiting class, outside of the top 50 coming into this season

they didn't have one transfer above a 3-star. All 3 stars across the entire board. Very different to Syracuse's program

So it's hard to see a squad like that above the orange

Another team that some people aren't happy about is Cal, the newcomers to the ACC

They finished 8th in a week-back 12 conference last year. And they really don't have that much. They ranked 10th in this poll

They did come in with two first place votes. They brought in some new recruits to help their weak offense

That being Chandler Rogers from North Texas, the star quarterback. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns this past season

But this Cal team finished 6-7 last year. And once again, they're another team that really don't have that much impressive recruits on the defensive side

So it's really hard to see them be above the orange heading into next year

Some people also weren't happy with the Boston College Eagles. Although in 14th, they did get one first place vote

And that just shows you how skewed this entire poll is. And how Syracuse has to block out the noise

They've got Marlo Wax and Aranda Gadsden on the all-ACC team. They're hoping they can perform this season. We're just going to have to wait and see
