What's going on, Fizz Nation? Dan Papillo here with the Orange Fizz, and we are here at the newly
0:05
renovated JMA Wireless Dome, where there was so much anticipation going into today's game
0:10
but most importantly, the Fran Brown era started with a win. The Orange took down the Bobcats 38-22
0:18
and there was a lot to talk about, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Orange allowed
0:23
over 200 rushing yards to an Ohio team that many were not expecting for this to happen
0:28
The Ohio offense is very option-based, but 200 yards rushing is 200 yards rushing
0:33
and something that cannot be happening against a team in the Middle Atlantic Conference
0:36
Fran Brown and his presser said they just got to be better, and they're going to definitely need to
0:41
be better with a team like Georgia Tech coming in next week, who has one of the best rushing
0:45
offenses in the ACC. And now on the offensive side of the ball, it was the Kyle McCord show today
0:51
He threw for over four touchdowns today, and just absolutely lit up the Dome crowd
0:56
showing off his ability to get out of the pocket and make those throws, something that
1:00
Syracuse fans haven't seen around these parts in a long time. So that's something really to see
1:05
but the biggest issue is with Marlo Wax Jr. The linebacker suffered a foot injury today
1:10
and it turns out that he will be out for a few weeks, according to Fran Brown and his presser
1:14
a brutal blow to the defense for one of their top leaders. So this team's going to have to adjust
1:20
and make some big changes, especially with Georgia Tech coming in next week. So that's my take here
1:24
from the JMA Wireless Dome. A big win. Like I said, Fran Brown gets the first one under his belt
1:29
That's the most important one. He had a really good game with clock management, and he's going
1:33
to need to keep going to keep the Syracuse team rolling. So that's my take. Thanks for listening
1:37
guys. And as always, go orange
