With 1 div-1 game remaining (3rd q baylor)… 2nite, SU will end the 1st weekend of football with the #1 passing “O” per game- 470 yds. ESPN has them #1, check it out!

    1. Does it mean anything FizzFam?
    2. Can it be repeated? SU did run for 100+ yds as a team..
    3. Gulley avgd. 7+ per carry & had 7 recs for 50 yds.. underused?
    4. Was the slow start, simply a tempo issue?
    5. What do we look like when Lemon returns?
*6.Kobena had 179 yds. all-purpose..on less than 10 touches? Wow..

    * * If being the #1 passing team in America is gonna make SU competitive, I say do it! Its better than the OLD PRODUCT…so I say CONGRATS! Syracuse University has never been the most superior aerial attack in America! #1 FBS

    BARKLEY COMETH….

  2. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Dip.I sorta think its just due to the way da game played out!Anytime u have play catchup ur gonna have mucho passing yds!!When Lemon returns well have a more balanced and productive O!Id rather have a boring win!!

  3. Ron says:

As Norma indicated to me in another post,Ron Thompson is hurt. He’s just another weapon that should get used a lot in a game after he recovers from his injury. Opposing defenses should watch out for him because he is big strong and hard to bring down.

  4. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Ron,ya think?not to worry,Ive heard the “Legion of Superheroes” are gonna report to HCDM,Gotham is saved!!lol…

  5. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Ron,or better yet hopefully Ron Thompson..whats his med status?..as Arnold’s says,,,”I’ll be back”!!!!

  6. Russell Mac Eachern says:

    Swarzenegger!Hopefully for USC!

  7. Russell Mac Eachern says:

    Norma,how ya feeling?Recover yet?U were jacked and righteously hurtin w/that lousy call by`Big10 officials!!I was depressed..still am,can’t wait to shock the Toyjan’s….no misspell!!lol

  8. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@Ron,keep writing ur books,ur the site optimist and we need it!!

  9. smitty section 129 says:

This team has the talent and looked very good Saturday but needs to learn how to win and Dougie please bring in a special teams coach that knows what he is doing. Our special teams has continued to kill us. How many games have we lost over the last few years due to special teams play. I can name a few but can’t name any that we have won due to our special teams. We need to rebound quick. This teams needs to catch a few breaks. I’m heading down to the Meadowlands not as excited as if we had won Saturday but time will heal this loss.

  10. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@Smitty,responded on previous thread!!Tip to fella’s…watch ur use of player name’s negatively, they read our stuff and their nice kids!!

  11. Russell Mac Eachern says:

I’ve also been guilty of it!!

  12. bigdip says:

Oh @russ, kids need to know that the expectation is winning! Twitter is bad, this site is “cupcake city baby” #dickieVvoice….lol
If we just concede to less than 100% effort, what’s that saying about the fanbase!

#1 passing offense in FBS? Sounds nice…!

    BARKLEY COMETH…

  13. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Dip,the “fanbase” ain’t gonna listen to me but that’s jus me,Unc Russ don’t like villain’s role,…not b’comin…was jus putting it out their seeing’s how we treat each other kid!!I ALWaYS take ur input seriously,ur still “my boy”!!

  14. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Dip,u may have a good point as I admire freethinkers as u know. Dip,just something to consider!!I know theirs times I can’t help myself when I have something to say!!

  15. Ron says:

@Russell Mac Eachern; one thing that I like to mention to everyone that uses this web site.
I believe that we’re all Syracuse Fans. The 37,856 people who showed up to watch the game on Saturday are the core of the schools support and have EVERY RIGHT TO VOICE THEIR CONCERNS WHEN SOMETHING GOES ASTRAY.

I also know that not all of the loyal fans can make the games like a lot of us can.

I welcome the commentary from the followers,I just can’t stand the complaining from the likes of people named Terry.

Oh! I forgot to mention Prince-Tyson Gulley had a good game and I didn’t see him fumble the ball at all. The 20 yard up-the-gut touchdown he scored was special. His efforts guaranteed him more playing time.

  16. CuseOnly says:

Terry was, is and will continue to be a tool for probably the rest of his life.

I wish he would put an icon of his real picture up, he probably looks like Gary Busey after a bender.

  17. Cuse Don't Luse says:

Nassib+ receivers in northwestern game+ ron thompson+ adrian flemming+ alec lemon+ david stevens= top 10 passing attack without a doubt

  18. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@CuseOnly,that’s FUNNY..lol..@CDL,its quite possible, tho don’t expect it every week,NW was weak at corners!!

  19. Russell Mac Eachern says:

We could’ve won if we went deep more as corners could’nt gage ball in flight that led to mucho penaltie’s!!

  20. Ron says:

@OrangeFizz Family;now that I’ve had time to analyze the results of the game,I need to ask some questions to everyone.

Syracuse usually is a running team that splits the number of plays equally between the run/pass.
    a) Syracuse ran the ball 30 times and(by committee)gained 126 total yards.
    b) Syracuse passed the ball 65 times with 45 completions for a total of 470 yards and giving Ryan Nassib a 67.7% completion rating.
    c) Syracuse had 11 different receivers catching the ball for those 470 yards.

Once you think about what happened on Saturday, the results were amazing. Don’t you all think so?

My question is this, since Doug Marrone came here he has preached the PRO STYLE SPREAD OFFENSE and has mentioned New Orleans quite a bit and has told us all, that what was LACKING HERE WERE THE PHYSICAL AND FAST PLAYERS FOR SUCH A PROGRAM.

MY question gentlemen, are we watching the beginning of something new at Syracuse? Is Doug Marrone finally recruiting the type of player needed for his vision of Syracuse Football?

I’ve thought about it and I’ve come to the conclusion that things are changing,I could be wrong, but I’m willing to give him a couple more years to see what transpires.

Sorry Russell for chapter 3 of my book.

  21. Ron says:

On Saturday I watched a college football game put up a total of 83 points on the board and totaled 933 total yards of offense.

It’s unfortunate Syracuse ended up losing the game, but if you were in attendance you witnessed one hell of a game and it was fun to watch.

  22. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@Ron,Tulane’s new coach comes from Saints staff and installed an interesting and effective Brees-type passing game against RU, tho they could’nt run and were overmatched against RUs D…I see Tulane winning 7 game’s this yr w/that timing pass O,major improvement 4 Green Wave,I hope HCDM is doing same thing as coach Johnson!?!?

  23. Russell Mac Eachern says:

Ron on ESPin’s crunchtime they’re featuring our game…SU/NW,right now!!

  24. Terry says:

I’m back in babble-ville, USA now. Its like sitting with you guys or gals trailer deck or pickup for a few beers!! Have been sticking up for Ryan for all of his play. Very few have!! Again I’m impressed with this team. Not dougie!!! Only with a better Coaching staff they probably would have won Saturday. And who coached the ST’s Saturday??? The blown roughing penalty hurt but that did not loose the game for SU. The 2 TO’s for TD’s and the screwed up coverage of the winning TD cost the CUSE the game. So as you babblers close the door of your trailer for the night and put on a Jeff Foxworthy CD for entertainment, just think what might have happened if SU had a REAL coach with real experience. I still have faith in this team just not your man HCDM or dougie!!! Beat USC!!! great game Ryan. You showed them!!

  25. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@Terry,a positive post,Im impressed,my straw hat fell off!No one said u had to love the “Dougie” Heck ur far from alone just don’t harp on it!!Your post made sense and was’nt mean spirited and thanks for ur support of “Cuse”!!

  26. Russell Mac Eachern says:

@Terry,let me know where I can get some “White lightnin” in NY!?!?lol..

  27. bigdip says:

VT 2nite@8 …cant wait to match up w/ the giants! FSU Clem UM…

  28. CuseOnly says:

Terry sounds an awful lot like FloridaSteve the Syracuse.com site.

Only that clown will say something positive and then ask for the coach to be fired.

“Cuse is gonna go 8-4 this year and Marone is outta HERE!!!!!”

Give it a rest, no team fires a coach that shows progress, goes 8-4 and improves the talent level enough that even a casual fan can notice.

As I am writing this, I am closing my trailer door and my drapes so that my neighbors can’t watch my 55 and 60 in screens. I will be shaving my 350 lb wife’s mustache in a few minutes and kicking my drunken brother off my living room couch to go home to the trailer 14 ft from my front door.

Man, thank GOD for Milwaukee’s Best beer prices is all I can say.

  29. Russell Mac Eachern says:

    @CuseOnly,Id considered that,but like u I sensed small differences,thats why I stopped going there,syr.com!!

  30. Ron says:

@CuseOnly,great post. Right on the money. Hey Terry are you Florida Steve? With more than one personality, I think you need to see a professional doctor. Don’t hesitate, get up off your dead a$$ AND GO NOW
