Monday Recruiting: Moe Neal Sets Another Record And Lindsey Scott Shines

It was another big week for Orange football commits.

Syracuse h-back commit Moe Neal set a Gaston County (NC) scoring record this weekend as his Forestview (NC) team knocked off North Gaston (NC) 40-14. Neal ran for two touchdowns and caught two more TD’s in Friday’s game.

The North Carolina running back has scored 566 points for Forestview in his four years at the school, a new county record. Last week Neal broke the county record for most ever career yards from scrimmage.

Next week Forestview (4-3) takes on rival South Point (5-2) (NC). Neal scored the winning touchdown in overtime when these two teams met last season.

After Friday’s game Neal discussed Forestview’s next opponent with the Gaston Gazette, “It’s always a big game against South Point. We snuck out with a win last year over there. But that was last year and this is a new year. The best thing is that we’re peaking at the right time. I hope we can keep the momentum going that we’ve gotten the last few weeks.”

In Louisiana, the Orange’s latest quarterback commit, Lindsey Scott, led his Zachary team to a thrilling 49-46 win over Scotlandville (LA) Friday. Scott completed 20 of 24 passes for a whopping 330 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 156 yards and three more touchdowns on 21 carries.

In the fourth quarter Scott’s Zachary team was down 46-34, but the Orange commit stayed positive. After leading his team to a come from behind victory he told The New Orleans Advocate: “No matter how many points we’re down, the mentality is we’re coming back to get that W, and that’s our focus.”

Finally, in a battle of unbeatens, Syracuse wide receiver commit Sadiq Palmer caught a touchdowns in his Red Bank Regional (NJ) team’s 30-14 win over Raritan (NJ) Friday. Palmer also had an interception in the game.
