How Dino Babers Recruits His QB’s, Tadas Tatarunas Talks With The Fizz

The quarterback loved his Syracuse visit.

Two weeks ago 2018 Ohio quarterback Tadas Tatarunas visited Syracuse’s campus and left feeling very high on the Orange.

“The campus was beautiful. My favorite part about the whole trip was meeting all of the coaches. They are warm and I got to talk to Coach Babers for an hour. I loved talking to him. He’s a really good guy and we talked about how he’s trying to get the program back to where it should be. He’d love for me to eventually be there in the future,” Tatarunas told the Fizz on the latest installment of Fizz Radio.

The quarterback loved the initiative shown by SU’s staff.

“Syracuse is one of the schools I’m really targeting because they actually invited me down. I had never really actually thought about Syracuse, but their coaching staff contacted me and said I needed to get out there so two weekends ago I went up there and I just loved the experience. I had a really good time there,” he said.

During Tatarunas’ discussion with Babers, Syracuse’s coach gave the quarterback some recruiting advice.

“Really he just gave me tips about the recruiting process and the main tip he told me was find a place where the head coach is an offensive guy and a place where they’ll actually play you and you’ll get the most out of college football. He said at Syracuse he’s a quarterbacks’ guy and when you play at Syracuse they’re going to look at you and everyone is going to be looking at you and you’re going to have the numbers to back it up.”

With two more years of high school football coming up, Tatarunas isn’t quite ready to discuss a potential commitment date.

“Right now I’m just going wherever the recruiting process takes me…I’m happy playing football, focusing on football and school and letting the recruiting process take me wherever it takes me.”
