What Are Syracuse Commits Saying About The Clemson Upset?

Monumental. Program changing. David slays Goliath. Whatever your upset phrase of choice is, it probably worked to describe Syracuse’s unthinkable win over No. 2 Clemson on Friday night. While the entirety of Central New York and Orange Nation was rocking after the upset, the incoming Class of 2018 commits are just as giddy. Here’s the pulse of Dino Babers’ next generation.

Tyrone Sampson, Center:

Sampson’s high school team also punched its ticket to the city championship last night after an 8-0 season. Talk about having yourself a night.

Anthony Queeley, Wide Receiver

“People around the world doubted the Syracuse Orange and we had a response. We showed that we wanted it more. We showed that we had the heart and drive to pull off one of the biggest wins in Syracuse history. Syracuse deserves this win and nobody can take it away. I’m a proud Syracuse commit! Phenomenal win by the guys!”

Will Froumy, Offensive Tackle

“I caught the end of the third and the 4th. That’s history right there. Cuse is gonna be a monster! Not enough words [to describe my excitement] man, I’m still freaking out.”

Trill Williams, ATH

“Tonight’s game had just about everyone on the edge of their seats, we needed this win to show we can play with anybody. It’s really hard to believe. I’m very excited to be apart of something special.”

Juan Wallace, Linebacker

“One word: unbelievable! I’m excited [to be a part of this program next year]. It’s going to be epic!”

Taj Harris, Wide Receiver

“Beautiful win. Very [excited to be a part of this team next year]. Cuse fans better get use to that feeling.”

Cameron Jonas, Safety

“I thought it was a big win for the Orange beating Clemson, and a bit surprised at how they pulled it off. Man i think about [playing for Syracuse next year] every single day, I’m just ready to get up there and start playing some ball.”
