Syracuse Football RB Chris Elmore’s Brother Signs with Kent State

In January 2017, Syracuse running back Chris Elmore signed with the Orange the day after he committed to the university. Now, his younger brother, Craig, has signed with Kent State on Wednesday, the day after he committed to the Golden Flashes.

The Chicago, IL native does not have any rating on scouting sites such as 247Sports.com or Rivals.com. 247Sports.com lists Kent State as Elmore’s only offer.

Listed as an athlete, Elmore played running back and middle linebacker in high school. Kent State recruited Elmore for his rushing abilities.

While Chris and Craig will be separated by over 350 miles in college, there is one familiar name in their college football stories. Syracuse Offensive Coordinator Sean Lewis is expected to be Kent State’s next head coach. He was the OC at Syracuse when Chris committed to and signed with the Orange.

Currently there is no notable information on who recruited Elmore to Kent State.

Wide receiver Javaughn Williams also signed with Kent State on Wednesday. He is rated two stars and is ranked as the 368th best WR prospect in the nation and 81st best prospect in Ohio, according to 247Sports.com. The Cleveland native also played defensive back in high school. He also played basketball.

OLB Ishmael Robinson signed with the Golden Flashes Friday, the last day of the early signing period. He is also ranked two stars but stands as the 154th best prospect at his position in the country and 15th from Washington, DC.

247Sports.com lists seven other Kent State recruits that previously announced their commitments but still have yet to sign. All are listed as two-star recruits. Among them is Shane Johnson, listed as the eighth best dual-threat quarterback prospect in the nation.
