The Fizz’s Top 100 list so far:

FizzCast analyzing the early list:

Choose your method of scoring at home, and no matter what you use John Galloway is an all-time Syracuse legend. If it’s the definition of being a winner, he has you covered. Galloway finished his career with the most wins by a goalie in NCAA and Syracuse history (59). He was also a workhouse, dependable and durable. He finished with more minutes between the pipes than anyone else (3,776).

His career record was astounding, compiling a mark of 59-8. He was meant to wear the Orange, being born and raised in Syracuse and starring at West Genessee. He finished his SU career at #1 and in the top 10 (7th all-time) with a goals-against average of 7.33. Galloway was a star immediately, playing over 1,000 minutes as a freshman. He never lost more than 2 games in a season. In the big games he also stood tall. He has the school record for NCAA Tournament career GAA (min. six games as a starter) with a mark of 7.20

He won, won big and won big early. In the last golden era of Syracuse lax dominance he won national championships as a freshman and a sophomore in ’08 and ’09. He’s the only starting goalie in NCAA history to win rings as a freshman and sophomore. He’s also the only two-time, first-team All-American goalie in school history. As a senior he was named Syracuse’s male athlete of the year, taking the award from every male athlete on campus.

Galloway quickly dominated MLL after graduating SU, and then entered coaching. He was a rising star as an assistant at Providence and the took over the Jacksonville program as the head coach. He’s considered a legend in the sport and he’s only in his early 30s. Galloway is one of the greatest players in school history, and also one of its greatest winners.
