Admittedly, it’s tough to focus.
As a townie, these are days of giddiness. Syracuse just won the national title; Abbott, Keogh, Hardy, Jamieson, Nims, Sid Smith.
The final :27, the ensuing overtime.
Just may be the greatest comeback in the history of the sport.
But here on¬†Fizz First, it’s back to business and that means looking at a str8 baller in the class of ’10.
We all know dynamic scorer¬†Dion Waiters has committed to the Orange. But what’s the young shooting guard been up to lately?
Eh, just stealing the show at a noted AAU tournament.
Waiters, playing for Team Final, garnered MVP honors as his squad won the Tournament of Champions.
He dropped 27 points in an AAU game Рthat at least means props from the Fizz.
The combo guard is going to be filling a need for the Orange when he makes his way to the Hill. Andy Rautins will be gone and Brandon Triche will be running the point.
Imagine a backcourt of Triche and Waiters, with the front consisting of Rick Jackson and some combination of James Southerland, Kris Joseph and Mookie Jones.
That’s a high scoring bunch, albeit two years away. Hey, we can dream can’t we?
Plus, watch Waiters drop this.
Notice Big Ronald go nuts in the background. It seems obvious. Waiters¬†has to be another McDonald’s All-American coming to SU. It’s preordained.
