The Crying Game

No Vanderbilt. No Kansas. And the Zags are famous for weeping like a child.

Look, I don’t wanna gloat too much over the dead carcasses of Georgetown, Villanova and Kansas.

Lord knows, the way this tournament is going – no power team can feel safe. Sat inside Dunkin’ Donuts Center this afternoon and watched Saint Mary’s own the Wildcats. Hell, Robert Morris – the 15-seed – led ‘Nova for nearly the entire game.

Northern Iowa took the lead from the opening minute over the Jayhawks. And the Hoyas acted like they’d rather be shoveling D.C. snow.

But with the way the brackets have shaken, Syracuse’s potential road to the Final Four and beyond is clearing up. No Vanderbilt. No Kansas. And next, the program whose most famous for openly weeping like a child.

Honestly, for all the success Mark Few has brought to Spokane over the last decade, isn’t the most indelible image Adam Morrison crying after thatincredible UCLA comeback?

All we need to mention is how dominant SU looked at times last night. Vermont was a bit plucky, certainly scary after ’05.

But the Orange raced to an early lead and never really took its foot off the gas (save for the final minutes of the 1st Half when the Catamounts when zone).

Zags are next. Bring it.

And let the upset bug keep biting everyone else.
