The Orange has lost its fourth commit from the 2015 recruiting class.
Hialeah, Florida product, cornerback Gerald Robinson tells The Fizz via direct message on Twitter that Utah has caught his attention as a possible landing spot. The #20 Utes are having a surprise season at 6-2, and are in the mix for the Pac-12 title game.
Robinson told Syracuse.com earlier today SU has failed to stay in contact with him regarding his recruiting. Robinson said he hasn’t heard from Syracuse since the end of September. He also wants to weigh his options. The concern from many Syracuse fans is that George McDonald has stopped recruiting since his demotion, since he’ll likely be on the move after the season.
‚ÄúBubba‚Äù is a prospect originally¬†targeted¬†by McDonald, who may leave SU in the offseason¬†due to his demotion to wide receivers coach. Robinson, though, says McDonald’s situation has nothing to do with his decision.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Robinson joins CB Davante Davis, S/WR Daiquan Kelly and LB Doyle Grimes on the de-committed list.
Back in April Robinson told Syracuse.com,¬†“I told Coach McDonald from the start that I wanted to be there. He just told me to hold off for a second and think about it. So I thought about it and that’s just where I want to be. And I can bring more Florida guys up there with me, too.”
The Fizz will speak with Robinson this evening to discuss his situation. Stay tuned to orangefizz.net for a FizzCast.
