A 3-9 season does not look any better moving forward.
The 2015 Syracuse football schedule was announced on Thursday and yet again, the Orange will find itself in a tough stretch of four straight games in the middle of the season.
Syracuse has a game on October 24 against Pittsburgh, followed by a game in Tallahassee against Florida State. The next two are against Louisville and Clemson. Although Florida State’s most dangerous weapon the past two years was Jameis Winston, he declared for the NFL Draft. Therefore, the Seminoles may not be as big of a threat. Still, FSU will be better than Syracuse.
The first four games are extremely crucial. SU opens its season against Rhode Island, a team it has not faced since 2011. Then the first conference opponent, Wake Forest, makes a trip to Syracuse. Central Michigan and LSU will follow those two games. Syracuse MUST go 3-1 in these first four games, because the rest of the schedule is so tough those may be the only three wins Syracuse sees for the remainder of the season.
Why is it that SU yet again gets burned with a tough schedule? One benefit for Syracuse is the number of home games, but that in the end may not mean anything, considering the Orange won more games on the road than at home.
