2017 big man Mohammed Bama already had offers from¬†Texas, Maryland, Villanova, Seton Hall, Temple (and others) before last weekend. But in the last few days, the 6’11” power forward added national powers, including Syracuse to his list. And his AAU¬†coach says that’s huge.
“The schools that have offered him have been smart enough to get on the train as it is moving slowly, but four-five months from now it will be moving express.”
PSA Cardinals coach Terrance “Munch” Williams tells SNY.tv, ‚ÄúMohammed has put himself in the conversation for being a top 5 player in the class of 2017 and a clear-cut high major recruit. This past weekend was a demonstration of¬†the growth he has had over the past year and half. Being able to stretch the defense by hitting the 3-point shot, running the floor with a¬†higher motor, rebounding out of space, blocking shots and becoming more of a vocal leader, have been all skills he has been able to showcase lately. Needless to say, he has a bright future.”
The Norristown, PA native picked up offers from the Orange, Kansas, Arizona, UConn and FSU this weekend. So now SU is in the middle of a difficult battle against some of the best. The good news is, as Williams says, the Orange didn’t wait much longer to make an offer. A Class of ’17 big who can stretch the floor, is a hard-worker, and easily coachable? Yeah, he’s gonna get some major attention real soon.
His high school coach Seth Berger also says Bamba has everything he needs to be an NBA player. He¬†told SNY.tv. ‚ÄúTalent, intelligence, the ability and desire to learn, length and hand-eye coordination. If he ¬†doesn‚Äôt get there, he will make a major impact off the court in the world.‚Äù Good for SU in not waiting any longer to offer, and once again the scholarship limitations aren’t preventing the program from offering the top dogs.
