Syracuse football is continuing to build for next season. Today, linebacker recruit Ryan Guthrie committed and signed with the Orange.

The 6’2” linebacker committed to Tulane University on November 20, but he decommitted on Monday, according to 247Sports. Guthrie made an official visit to Syracuse on Saturday.

Guthrie currently plays Junior College football for Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Panthers won their third straight bowl game on December 6. The team has 23 total bowl wins, the most in JUCO history, according to their Twitter page.
Guthrie played football for West Forsyth High School in his hometown of Cumming, Georgia. He graduated in 2015. Guthrie averaged 7.2 tackles per game in high school, well above the national average, according to MaxPreps.

After a second straight disappointing 4-8 season from SU football, it will be interesting to see what fresh faces like Guthrie can add to the team in 2017.
