Syracuse University campus might be quiet right now during summer break, but Syracuse football is busy with campus visits.
Four-star offensive lineman Qadir White from the Bronx and three-star safety Cameron Jonas from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida are in Central New York right now.
CuseNation.com’s Mike McAllister first reported the visits this morning.
White and Jonas would provide big boosts to the Orange 2018 recruiting class if SU can secure them.
White, currently attending Cardinal Hayes High School, ranks as the 317th prospect in the nation, 26th at offensive tackle and 3rd in the state of New York, according to 247Sports.com.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 334 pounder has received offers from 19 other schools as well:
- Auburn
- Georgia
- Maryland
- Penn State
- Boston College
- Bowling Green
- Coastal Carolina
- Connecticut
- Delaware State
- Iowa State
- UMass
- Miami
- Minnesota
- N.C. State
- Old Dominion
- Pittsburgh
- Rutgers
- Texas State
- UCLA
Even so, 274Sports.com gives a 67 percent chance that White commits to Syracuse.
For Jonas, the predictions may be wrong. 247Sports.com already gives a 100 percent chance that Jonas commits to N.C. State. Yet, here he is in Central New York today.
The 6-foot-1-inch, 187 pounder ranks as the 592nd prospect in the country, 45th at safety and 92nd in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.com.
The Dwyer High School senior has received 14 other offers along with Syracuse’s:
- N.C. State
- Florida State
- Kentucky
- Miami
- Arkansas
- Auburn
- East Carolina
- Florida Atlantic
- Georgia
- Indiana
- Pittsburgh
- UCLA
- Virginia Tech
- Wisconsin
It’s always a waiting game to see who commits. Today is one step in the right direction for the Orange to add new pieces to its collection.
