The Syracuse Football season just got underway, but get ready because basketball is right around the corner. The ACC will be releasing the men’s basketball schedule Thursday night with the season slated to start in early November. Although we don’t know the specifics of the schedule, we already have a pretty good idea of what the 2021-22 slate will look like for the Orange.
Let’s start with the non-conference games that have already been announced.
Nov. 9 – vs. Lafayette
Nov. 14 – vs. Drexel
Nov. 20 – vs. Colgate
Nov. 24-26 – Battle 4 Atlantis (3 games)
Nov. 30 – vs. Indiana (Big Ten/ACC Challenge)
Dec. 7 – Villanova (Madison Square Garden)
Dec. 11 – at Georgetown
Dec. 18 – vs. Lehigh
Dec. 21 – vs Cornell
With those games already on the docket, there should only be ACC games left to fill the gaps. Based on previous scheduling, we know what teams Syracuse will be playing and where.
Home Only
Syracuse will play four teams only in the Dome this season — Georgia Tech, Louisville, Clemson and Virginia.
Away Only
The Orange will face four ACC opponents once on the road, which include North Carolina, Virginia Tech, NC State and Notre Dame.
Home-And-Away
There will be six teams SU will play twice this season, once at home and once away. Those include Wake Forest, Boston College, Florida State, Duke, Miami and Pittsburgh.
So, there you go. There will be 11 non-con games and 20 ACC matchups. Thursday night’s schedule release will tell us the specifics, but we at least have the broad strokes right now. Keep it locked on Orange Fizz for our schedule announcement and ensuing breakdown content.
