After not making the trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State on Saturday, junior wide receiver Taj Harris has entered the transfer portal.
Harris opened the season as the most experienced wideout, starting 29 games over the last three years. The Beverly, New Jersey native shined in 2020, ranking fifth in the conference in receptions per game with six.
In 2021, Harris has snagged 16 catches for 171 yards in just three games.
The caveat is who is throwing the ball his way. Now-starting QB Garrett Shrader has completed only three passes to Harris, while Tommy Devito relies on the 6-foot-2 receiver heavily, connecting with Harris on 13 occasions.
It’s now up to Anthony Queeley, Sharod Johnson and Damien Alford to anchor down the wide receiving room.
