Off The Radar 2025 Wing Commits To SU Basketball

Earlier today, Adrian Autry received his second commitment from the 2025 class and it was a surprise to say the least. Aaron Womack, a three-star from Milwaukee, Wisconsin announced his commitment to the Orange via a Joe Tipton tweet at 1:30pm. The newest member of the Orange went completely under the radar throughout his entire recruitment process. Pretty much all of the hype around the 2025 class has been about Kiyan Anthony and other talented guards, mainly from the DMV and east coast.

Womack was offered by Autry just two days ago on Saturday and decided to commit soon after. SU was the small forwards first offer from a Power Five school. His other offers didn’t even come from mid major schools, but were all low majors like Green Bay, Southern Utah, Buffalo, and Illinois-Chicago.

Autry obviously saw something that others didn’t though, bringing in a player from an area of the country that SU doesn’t regularly recruit from. Womack is undersized as a small forward, standing at just 6’5 and weighing only 170 pounds. If he ever wants to see the court, he’ll have to either grow or transition into a guard. The Wisconsin’s game definitely pushes him more towards becoming a guard. The wing jumped onto the scenes as a sharpshooter and didn’t do much else for the majority of his high school career. Womack has expanded his game recently, becoming much more dynamic in transition and off the dribble. A

In an interview with On3’s Joe Tipton after his commitment, Womack said, “I would say I like to play fast, shoot 3s, and just find ways to score, even playing the passing lanes on defense. I would describe my game as a shooter and play an all-around game. I can use my length and athleticism to block shots and get up for dunks.” That fast paced style of play and scoring will definitely be welcomed in the 315 after lots of unathletic guard play over the past few years.
