Who Will Win the Eastern Conference in the NBA?

This NBA season has been wild so far.

The Western Conference is in turmoil, with at least four teams fighting for supremacy. But the Eastern Conference is just as exciting, with competitors like the Cleveland Cavaliers making an obvious attempt at winning another title. Their last one dates back to 2016.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are on a mission to win their second consecutive trophy and can probably sense that the odds are in their favor. In the Western Conference, every single team has lost at least four games so far. In the Eastern Conference, the Cavaliers and an incredible start, winning 15 consecutive games, but lost three of their last five.

Betting on NBA matches can be very lucrative at the moment, especially if you can predict the nemesis of a team that’s ranked among the best.

The Favorites

Here are the teams that could realistically win the Eastern Conference this season in the NBA:

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers started the new season with a formidable roster. The results they obtained in the first 15 games were facilitated by players like Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. Both of them decided to extend their contracts with the team, signaling to everyone else that the Cavaliers have a good chance of winning a trophy in the next several years.

Based on what we’ve seen so far in 2024, they might end up achieving this result this season. The Cavaliers’ current score is 17 W – 3 L. If they manage to shake off their recent defeats and start playing their usual game again, it will be very difficult for their opponents to triumph against them.

At home, they’re 10 W – 1 L. Away, they’re 7 W – 2 L. This is a team that plays for the fans and the scores tend to be quite dramatic. Sometimes, they win with ease. Other times, they win by the skin of their teeth.

For the Cavaliers, the next match will probably determine a lot. Their opponent is Boston Celtics, who already defeated them once but only by 3 points: 120 – 117. With a bit more focus, the Cavaliers could win the second match and regain their confidence.

But if they lose, they might end up losing a lot of games after that. In such a case, the Celtics will surpass them and Orlando Magic might do the same.

Boston Celtics

This team won the regular season in 2023 – 2024 with a score of 64 W – 18 L. More importantly, they also won the NBA Finals against the Mavericks 4 – 1. After such an incredible season, it’s not a big surprise to see them playing well again.

So far in 2024 – 2025, the Celtics have defeated almost every opponent and their current score is 16 W – 3 L. Quite remarkably, this team is very hard to defeat in away games (9 W – 1 L) and seems to focus better when fewer fans are around to see the match.

If the Celtics can win their next game against the Cavaliers, the confidence boost will likely be sufficient to carry them to a conference victory. It’s still a bit too early to draw conclusions, but with two victories against their main rival, it would start to become clear that nobody in the Eastern Conference can seriously challenge them.

Orlando Magic

Orlando Magic’s current score is not very good: 14 W – 7 L. But this team has won 12 consecutive matches and is on an unstoppable streak right now.

Furthermore, they’re the only team in the NBA who haven’t lost a single game at home. This is important because it gives them an incredible morale boost that makes them nearly unbeatable when they are well supported.

On the other hand, they lost no less than seven away matches and only won five of them so far. However, those five victories occurred recently, which could mean that Orlando Magic are out of the woods at this point and will continue to win most of their games.

Even in a worst-case scenario, this team should at least finish the Eastern Conference in the top 3. With a little bit of luck, they could win the 2024 – 2025 season in the NBA.
