The Fran Brown recruiting machine is at it again! What should be a surprise to absolutely no one is that Brown seems to have replaced Trebor Pena with a receiver who is even better. On3Sports has crystal-balled former five-star, Texas and Washington Transfer, Johntay Cook to Syracuse. The Texan is an NFL talent who has the potential to be one of the top receivers in the ACC. Multiple arrests over the past year have caused issues, but under the guidance of Fran Brown, the hope is that Cook can turn things around.
The NFL Draft buzz will be very real around Cook in the coming years. If he does end up committing to SU, the Orange could have a future first-rounder on their hands. Here is the most recent NFLDraftBuzz.com scouting report:

If Fran Brown can get the job done and bring in Johntay Cook, there is no doubt the Orange will be set at receiver this year. With Justus Ross Simmmons, Umari Hatcher, Emmanuel Ross, and others returning, the ‘Cuse has what looks to be one of the most talented WR rooms in the ACC. With either LSU transfer Rickie Collins or Notre Dame transfer Steve Angeli throwing them the ball, it’s set to be a super exciting year for the ‘Cuse.
