Fran Brown Has Rejuvenated Syracuse Athletics

Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown has rejuvenated not only his team but the entire athletics program. The reason? The energy and kind words shared by other athletics teams about Coach Brown–whether from Syracuse men’s basketball coach Adrian Autry or women’s basketball coach Felicia Leggett-Jack.

The hype and excitement around Syracuse football have transcended to other programs as well.

For the football squad itself, Fran Brown’s failed attempt to team up with Deion Sanders for a flip-flopping Spring Game against Colorado in Boulder this year, followed by Syracuse next year, highlights the broad reach of SU in Brown’s short tenure.

He has received a multitude of praises from coaches, executives, and players around the country, both in college and in the NFL.

For example, Syracuse recently had former coach and NFL legend Tom Coughlin as part of the first-ever Franchise Coaches Clinic during Syracuse’s spring.

Legendary coaches like Urban Meyer have also had high praise for Brown. Meyer, the former Ohio State head coach, even hosted Brown on The Triple Option podcast with Mark Ingram and Rob Stone.

After one year, Brown led his team to a 10-win season and has named Rickie Collins as the starting quarterback heading into the new season.

Syracuse’s Spring Game takes place in the Dome Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
