With just two months to go before the 2026 lacrosse season, Syracuse men’s lacrosse announced its captain’s for this upcoming season on social media today.

The senior defensemen pair of Riley Figueiras and Billy Dwan III were both named captains. On the offensive side of the field, Joey Spallina and Finn Tompson were named from the attack group.

When this senior group committed to Syracuse, it sparked a new era of Orange lacrosse. Spallina was the top recruit in his class; similarly, the other three captains were all 4-star and 5-star pledges. Star seniors Michael Leo and Jimmy McCool, while not named captains, buoyed this team’s initial recruiting class. Inside Lacrosse’s annual recruiting magazine made this SU recruiting class the front cover, giving it the headline name “Orange Alert”.

The senior crew has improved each year over its time at Syracuse. This past year, the Orange won the ACC Championship and clinched an autobid to the NCAA Tournament. SU then knocked off a top tier Princeton squad to reach Memorial Day’s Final Four weekend. While the ‘Cuse fell to Maryland for the fifth time in the Gary Gait era, it made progress for this upcoming season.

Title or bust.

With a similarly strong incoming freshman class to mentor, with 17th ranked recruit Bogue Hahn headlining six top-100 freshman, Syracuse’s captains have the task of both bringing home a national championship to the 315 but also mentor the next wave of Orange studs.

This is a breaking news story. Please allow time for updates.
