Junior attackman Trey Deere, a budding star in 2025 who looked to have an elevated role this upcoming spring for the orange, will likely miss the entire 2026 season with injuries stemming from a car accident.
Deere tallied 19 goals for the Orange in 2025; With Head Coach Gary Gait missing top offensive weapons Sam English and Owen Hiltz due to graduation, Deere was bound to take an increased role. His physical play style positioned him well on rides in addition to driving at the crease.
He was selected to multiple Haudenosaunee National Team tournaments this fall, playing in both an age-restricted tournament and a world “Sixes” tournament. Deere was one of the only college lacrosse players selected to a Sixes roster.
Deere will have two years of eligibility, 2027 and 2028’s springs, and will now be placed on a timeline similar to the star incoming freshman class. Although he cannot contribute this upcoming season, he begins a role in bringing along the next wave of Orangemen.
