Knight in ESPN Armor.

Team first attitude in a high schooler? We’re in. But the biggest question is whether he still has the Orange in his sights.

There are a couple of great things about Tully’s.

One is of course, the chicken tenders.

The other is the amount of big screen TVs to watch everything from MSG to the Ocho.

So what did I have in front of me Friday night? Pine Crest versus Winter Park high school basketball on ESPN2. You know Pine Crest, where the highly-touted Orange recruit Brandon Knight is playing.

So how did things turn out? Playing against talanted guard Austin Rivers, Knight went off for 48, but his team lost 87-76 in a game that was never even that close.

So how did the star feel about his effort? Well, let’s just say he would fit in well with the mindset on this current Syracuse squad.

“I think people look at you not for how many points you score, but if you are a winner. That is what I want to do, win. Points – who really cares, really? Forty-eight is a big number, but I could have went out and had 60 if I really tried to attack every single time. A win is the most important thing.”

Team first attitude in a high schooler? We’re in. But the biggest question, asThe Fizz has chronicled over the past months, is whether he still has the Orange in his sights.

If ESPN’s vetting of these kids is worth anything, the broadcast team still listed the ‘Cuse in his college choices.

It may just be reading tea leaves, but holding out on some hope with a guy who said he wasn’t looking for his shot all game and still dropped 48? There’s nothing wrong with that.
