Louie, All Alone

It’s a lonely time for SU football’s class of 2011. Why? Tight end/’Cuse legacy Louie Addazio is the only member of next years group (as of now).
Louie is the son of the excitable Steve Addazio, former Syracuse assistant coach and current Gators offensive coordinator.
That thought becomes a little scarier when you consider the ’11 basketball class already has two, in stud guards Michael Carter Williams and Trevor Cooney. Does this spell doom for Doug Marrone?!
Obviously not.
Don’t fret. This time last June, The Fizz was filling you in on all the players who were looking at the Orange and hadn’t signed yet. At this point, things seem pretty familiar right now.
And to be comparing to SU’s basketball recruiting probably isn’t fair. Rob Murphy and Mike Hopkins are the best of the best, and have a Hall of Fame closer in the Per’fesser backing them up. You can’t expect a second-year head man to pull kids the same way.
Also, when you include the “celebration” that has become signing day, more elite players want to hold off until the last minute to create hype. That might even be an indication that the Orange is after stronger talent.
Don’t forget, summer is the time when recruits step their game up and get exposed at camps.
Good news is, there are plenty of recruits on the radar and The Fizz will have you filled in through the hot months.

The elite programs already have commitments from 4 and 5 star prospects. They don’t wait until the last minute. I hope Coach Marone address’ this situation down the line.

Good article. It is extremely unfortunate that over the last decade, the travel industry has had to take on terrorism, SARS, tsunamis, bird flu, swine flu, and also the first ever real global economic downturn. Through everthing the industry has proven to be strong, resilient and dynamic, locating new methods to deal with misfortune. There are often fresh challenges and chance to which the industry must yet again adapt and act in response.
