Where Is Syracuse in ACC Recruiting Rankings as Signing Day Approaches?

To measure Syracuse against Florida State, Clemson or Louisville in a football sense is a losing proposition. The Orange program is nowhere near competing for championships, conference titles and Heismans¬†like those squads are. However, as SU tries to climb in the ACC it’s appropriate to look at where it stands with its other league opponents.

The only way for the Orange to move up in the food chain of the ACC is to move from the lowest rung, to the middle rung. SU must walk before it can run. With that in mind, here’s where Syracuse ranks at the moment in the recruiting rankings within the conference, as Signing Day is just days away.

Scout puts Syracuse at 10th in the ACC and #53 nationally. Via 16 3-stars and 1 4-star, Scout has the Orange rated higher than NC State, Virginia, Boston College and Wake in the ACC.

247 Sports lists the Orange 12th of 14 teams.  Not surprisingly Clemson, FSU and Miami are the top three. SU has 21 three-star commits, which ties it with UVA. That ranks ahead of Wake Forest and Boston College.

Rivals has the Orange at 12th in the ACC and 58th nationally. That also puts SU above only BC and Wake in the ACC.

ESPN does not list SU in its top 40 (unsurprisingly). FSU at 5, Clemson at 11, Miami at 13, UNC at 24, Virginia Tech at 26, Louisville at 27, Pitt at 30, and Duke at 31 are the ACC schools. The goal would be to reach into the 30s like the Panthers and Blue Devils as Dino starts to turn the program around in upcoming years.

Let’s see how the final 72 hours is for the Orange and if it can rise in the rankings with a few more late commits.
