As the months wound down, it was a forgone conclusion that Duke was going to be the new home of four-star recruit Kyle Filipowski. The 6’10” forward with guard-like skills made it official earlier today.
With both Donovan Clingan and Flip choosing other programs, Syracuse is still in a great spot, but its chances as the top recruiting class in 2022 has diminished. It looks like the only way SU can salvage a great frontcourt duo alongside Kamari Lands is seven-footer Peter Carey. Although Carey isn’t close to the talent of Filipowski, it’s a great alternative to have.
Now the focus turns to who else the Orange can eye at the big man position, while also staying lasered in on the development of backcourt players.
