Today, 3-star defensive lineman Q’yaeir Price announced he’s committed to Syracuse Football. Price is a huge get for the Orange as the New Jersey native is ranked top 700 nationally.
With Price’s commitment, Syracuse snapped back at West Virginia, as the Mountaineers beat the Orange in the battle for 4-star cornerback Jacolby Spells earlier this month. Fans will also be happy to see that Dino Babers and the SU Football program are winning in their backyard.
Price will graduate from DePaul Catholic in Wayne, New Jersey next Spring. As previously mentioned Syracuse triumphed over West Virginia to gain Price‚Äôs commitment, but they weren’t the only team interested. During the recruiting process, the 6-2, 255 lbs defensive lineman gained offers from Liberty, Boston College, Maryland, and Rutgers among others.
By the time Price gets to campus in the Fall of 2022, the SU defensive line will be a very young group, so plenty of opportunity in terms of playing time.
Obviously, the youngster has been impressive in his high school career, tallying 16 sacks, 37 tackles for loss, and 3 forced fumbles in 2019 and 2020 combined. He’s versatile, can play on both the edge and interior, expect big things when he arrives in the salt city come 2022.
