Although Syracuse hasn’t played a single game under Fran Brown, fans are already talking about this recruiting class. Syracuse closed their class of 2024 as the 36th ranked in the country and has already secured 28 verbal commitments for its 2025 class. That ranks SU second for the most commitments among FBS schools, just a player behind Rutgers. Their class is currently ranking 33rd in the country and lacks any four-star recruits, after securing two four-star commitments for the 2024 season.
Syracuse will kick off their 2025 campaign on August 30 against the Tennessee Volunteers and there’s a chance that some of their new players will improve their rankings by then. However, by considering these football tips and looking at the composition of the new football recruits, there’s plenty of unknown a year from now,
Here’s a closer look at some of the Syracuse Orange new football recruits and their potential impact down the road.
Syracuse’s top three 2025 recruits:
1. Jaylen Pray
Jaylen Pray committed to Syracuse earlier in March and he’ll hopefully have a significant impact on Fran Brown’s down the road. The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle has committed to Syracuse over Connecticut, Boston College, Notre Dame, and multiple others.
Speaking about his decision to commit to Syracuse, Jaylen said that the recruiting staff made him feel important. Jaylen then fell in love with the football program after touring the campus and he hopes to achieve his goal of taking his game to the next level under coach Fran. The talented offensive tackle ranks No. 923 nationally and 58th at his position.
2. Terrell Wilfong
New Jersey’s talented wide receiver Terrell Wilfong chose to commit to Syracuse in April. The three-star wideout preferred SU over schools like Boston College, Maryland, and Penn State. Wilfong was the fourth wide receiver to join Orange and the 14th player to commit to their side on overall.
Recording 11 touchdowns in 730 yards last year, Terrell Wilfong could become a big name at Syracuse and in the ACC. He is also considered the 19th best prospect from New Jersey.
3. Darien Williams
Coming from the Christian Brothers Academy, Darien Williams committed to Orange in March. Williams chose a football program from his hometown over schools like Boston College, Penn State, and Pittsburgh. The 5-foot-10 wideout ranks No. 426 in the country and stands as the 71st-best receiver nationally based on On3 rankings.
A track star with impressive speed, Williams stands as one of New York’s best players. The highly rated three-star prospect led CBA to their state title last year and he hopes to continue his stellar form at Syracuse. William finished his junior campaign with 44 receptions, 11 receiving touchdowns, and almost 900 receiving yards.
