The Orange’s offense has been pitiful this season. Maybe safety
Marquise Blair can get some reps on both sides of the ball in 2015.
Blair scored all five of his team’s touchdowns Friday night in Wooster’s (OH) 35-21 win over Hamilton Township (OH). He scored two receiving touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns and had a pick that he returned for a score as well. His final stat line looks like this: five catches for 136 yards and two TDs, 76 rushing yards and two TDs, one INT returned 16 yards for a TD. Not too shabby.
West Lindor continues to show how influential offensively he can be at tight end for his Affton (MO) team. Lindor caught a twenty-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring in Affton’s 29-6 win over Gateway (MO) Friday night. The 6-foot-4 tight end caught a two-point conversion in the third quarter as well. Lindor hauled in what would have been a 57-yard TD catch in the game, but it was called back for offensive pass interference. Affton improved to 13-0 on the season with the win.
Syracuse center-to-be, Andrejas Duerig, played an important role in third seeded Mount Carmel’s (IL) Class 3A 44-30 playoff win over second seeded Nashville (IL) Saturday. Mount Carmel ultimately took the lead early in the fourth quarter thanks to quarterback Darren Peach and the MC offensive line. The QB got a good push from his line and fell into the end zone for the go ahead touchdown. MC now takes on first seeded Robinson Saturday.
Finally in Ohio, linebacker Troy Henderson Jr.’s St. Edward team won 37-3 in its first round playoff game over Brunswick. This was the seventh time this season Henderson Jr.’s defense allowed seven points or fewer in a game. Second seeded St. Ed’s now takes on tenth seeded Olentangy Liberty Saturday.
