Three of the most exciting players in SU’s 2016 recruiting class are Louisiana quarterback Lindsey Scott, New Jersey wide receiver Sadiq Palmer and North Carolina running back Moe Neal. These three commits all played major roles in leading their respective high school teams to victory this past weekend.
Scott led his Zachary team to a 49-27 win over Central Friday. The QB completed seven of nine pass attempts in the first half of the game, throwing for 176 yards and two scores in the process.
In the second half Scott continued his domination, running for a 27-yard touchdown to open the third quarter. That score put Zachary up 42-0, which meant Scott got a rest for the majority of the second half. The Broncos have won five games in a row and are now 8-1 on the season.
In New Jersey, Palmer made plays on both sides of the ball in his Red Bank Regional team’s 37-6 win over Holmdel Friday. SU’s only 2016 receiver caught a touchdown at the end of the first half to put his team up 17-0.
Palmer is also a defensive back for RBR and intercepted a pass in the first half of the game. Red Bank Regional is undefeated on the season at 7-0.
H-back commit Moe Neal’s Forestview team also blew out its opponent Friday. Neal rushed for 50-yards and two scores en route to Forestview’s 35-12 victory over Huss.
Friday’s game was senior night for Neal and the rest of the Forestview team. They wrap up the regular season next week on the road against East Gaston. Forestview hasn’t quite had as successful of a season as Zachary or RBR; the team moved to 5-5 with Friday’s win.
