Since the Dino Babers hire Syracuse has brought in four new 2016 commits. Wisconsin offensive lineman Airon Servais, Florida linebacker Kenneth Ruff, Ohio cornerback Carl Jones and Illinois offensive lineman Liam O’Sullivan have all pledged SU in the last two weeks.
After the holidays, the Orange’s new staff will look to build on this recruiting momentum. Here are five players on SU’s radar heading into the New Year.
Devin Miller: The Georgia linebacker tweeted out a list of his top four schools last Thursday. Syracuse made the cut alongside Cincinnati, South Florida and Marshall.
Miller stands at 6’0’’ and weighs 195 pounds according to Rivals.com. He’d be the second linebacker in SU’s 2016 class to commit alongside Ruff.
Drew Beesley: Syracuse assistant coach Tom Kaufman recruited Beesley, a Michigan defensive end, to Blowing Green according to 247Sports.com. Beesley decommitted from Bowling Green on Saturday. The Orange may make a play on the defensive end now that he has opened up his recruitment.
Sam Brodner: The 3-star Illinois running back will take an official visit to Syracuse in January according to the Chicago Tribune. Brodner announced that he had decommitted from Vanderbilt on Thursday. He’s another player Babers and his staff offered at Bowling Green.
Martin Mangram: Mangram’s twitter handle is @Mangram_Island and SU needs a lot of help in the secondary… The Georgia cornerback is rated as a 2-star prospect on Rivals. Last week, the Daily Orange reported that Mangram plans to take an official visit to SU.
Alonge Brooks: Syracuse had six players on its roster from California this past season. Babers is trying to add to that number with a Brooks, a receiver. SU’s new head coach will visit Brooks in January, according to the Post Standard.
