It’s been an electric last 24 hours at The Fizz covering the Snowball-Gate aftermath. But, it’s time to get down to recruiting business.
The Daily News outlined Christ the King quarterback Terrel Hunt killing it in on the NYC gridiron these days, and syracuse.com threw up that link as well.
All 6’3″, 186 pounds of Hunt are headed to the ‘Cuse next fall, starting what we might call a decent stretch of quarterback recruits in the last few years, between Nassib, Paulus, Loeb, Kinder, Miller, and now Hunt.
So what is the ‘Cuse getting? Let The Fizz discuss.
He’s a dual-threat quarterback slated to play against Bishop Ford this weekend. The question is can he top his prior performances? Because he has already done it all.
Two rushing touchdowns in his first game. Plus a passing score. The icing on the cake came on an interception return for six to seal the win.
Breathe.
This was all after severe weather (including tornados) swept through NYC, limiting his practice schedule all week. Again, that was his first game.
The next week was just as spectacular, although not as highly publicized. Hunt ran for 99 yards on the day and went for 240 yards in the air.
On six completions.
(See, I can copy and paste too, but for journalistic effect.)
Hunt has been committed to the Orange for longer than most quarterbacks, considering he gave his verbal on June 30th – a full seven months before Signing Day. A lot of guys who are checking in with multiple schools like to keep their options open until they “prove themselves” senior year.
He also had a studly sheet of schools looking at him. Rutgers is in the fray (feelin’ the heat, coach Schiano?) along with UConn and Boston College – all teams that appear on SU’s schedule this season.
Hunt is certainly making a name for himself which only proves the ‘Cuse is getting a dynamic talent next year and the coaching staff hit big on a kid with skills.
Check back with The Fizz for all your latest Terrel Hunt updates throughout his season.
