There will be many changes over the next few weeks, but as things stand right now SU’s 2016 recruiting class has two state champions. Linebacker commit Taylor Riggins won the Class AA state title in New York two weeks ago. This past weekend, quarterback commit Lindsey Scott won Louisiana’s Class 5A state title game.
Scott’s Zachary team knocked off John Ehret in a 46-12 blowout Saturday night in the Superdome. Scott threw for three touchdowns in the game and ran for one more. The highlight of the night was Scott’s 81-yard third quarter touchdown pass to receiver Doug Coleman.
After leading Zachary to its first ever state title, Scott tweeted: ‚ÄúWhen it’s all said and done…No better way to end my career. Thank you Lord for everything! Love my boys!‚Äù
Syracuse added Wisconsin offensive lineman Airon Servais and Florida linebacker Kenneth Ruff to its 2016 class last week.
Servais played for Ashwaubenon High in Green Bay. They finished the season 6-4 losing in the first round of the playoffs.
Ruff played for Dillard High in Ft. Lauderdale. Dillard finished Ruff’s senior season with a 6-5 record and a first round playoff loss as well.
