Fran Brown is working. So Syracuse fans have every reason to start dreaming.
The Orange landed a nice recruiting victory this week when 3-star RB Tylek Lewis announced his commitment to Syracuse, choosing the Orange over an impressive list of Power Four programs including Arizona, Kansas State, Arkansas, and West Virginia.
That’s a big recruiting win.
But it could become something much bigger. Because now imagine Lewis lining up alongside fellow Syracuse target Elijah Kimble.
Fran Brown isn’t just assembling another recruiting class, he’s trying to build one of the most dynamic backfields Syracuse has signed in years.
Kimble, the consensus No. 1 player in New York, is expected to announce his college decision soon after an official visit that reportedly left a major impression. Syracuse has emerged as one of the favorites despite competition from national powers like Ohio State, Miami and Notre Dame.
Now add Lewis to the equation. It’s easy to see the vision. Brown is looking for dynamic playmakers and a support system for the quarterback.
Lewis fits that blueprint. Physical. Athletic. Competitive.
Syracuse is starting to make waves in the recruiting game. The Orange is starting to see recruiting rankings they haven’t seen in years.
Now the Orange are beating established Power Four programs for commitments.
Friday is shaping up to be a massive day for the Orange. That’s when Kimble says he’ll decide.
Until he puts on the orange hat, this remains speculation. But Syracuse fans are allowed to dream.
Because if Brown can close that recruitment, the Orange would suddenly boast a premier tandem in the 2027 class.
It would also reinforce a larger trend.
Brown isn’t merely landing highly rated recruits. He’s stacking talent at premium positions.
Landing Lewis was significant.
Pairing him with Kimble?
That would send a message to the rest of the conference.
Fran Brown isn’t recruiting to keep up anymore.
He’s recruiting to compete for championships.
