On National Signing Day last Wednesday, Syracuse secured letters of intent from 15 recruits.
Three of the total 18 committed recruits did not sign, however. These three are Jawhar Jordan, Jaqurius Smith and Akeem Dixon. All three are three-star recruits
Jawhar Jordan is a Chandler, Arizona native who is listed as an all-purpose back. He is 5-feet-10-inches tall and 160 pounds, and can block during pass plays, make passes himself and rush for solid yardage. 247Sports ranks Jordan as the 686th best prospect in the country, the 17th best prospect in the nation at his position and the seventh best prospect from his home state. He committed to SU back on May 24 after receiving an offer from SU on May 11.
While Jordan did not sign last Wednesday, he did tweet about other friends of him signing their letters of intent. Jordan still has his commitment announcement tweet still pinned on his Twitter account.

Jaqurius Smith is an outside linebacker form Lakeland, Florida who checks in at 6-feet-3-inches tall and 194 pounds. 247Sports ranks Jordan as the 993rd best prospect in the country, the 67th best prospect in the nation at his position and the 145th best prospect from his home state. He committed to Syracuse back on May 2 after receiving an offer from SU on April 3.
Our Fizz staff spoke with Smith last Wednesday, and Smith said he still plans to sign with the Orange. The next day, Smith tweeted that he is “blessed” to have received an offer from Cincinnati. His profile picture is a cartoon drawing of him wearing a Syracuse football uniform.

Akeem Dixon is a 6-foot-tall, 210-pound running back from Vero Beach, Florida. 247Sports does not have a national ranking for Dixon but ranks him as the 72nd best prospect in the nation at his position and the 189th best prospect from his home state. He committed to the Orange back on May 17 after receiving a visit from SU Secondary Coach Nick Monroe on May 12.
Dixon isn’t very active on Twitter (his last three tweets came on May 17, 2017; August 21, 2016 and December 11, 2015). The May 17 tweet is of himself wearing a Syracuse football uniform. The picture also serves as his profile picture.

Should these three SU commits follow through and sign with the Orange, they have the potential to raise Syracuse’s 2018 recruiting class from 12th best in the ACC to eighth best in the conference.
