Sometimes it just feels good to get in the win column, and after back-to-back games against top 15 teams this was needed. Syracuse played with energy and pace, the Orange made their shots and most importantly rebounded.
Team Basketball : A+
The Orange played as a team today. Everyone got involved in the offensive effort for SU. Yes, this game was against a D-2 team, but still seven players scored in double figures. Syracuse moved the ball, with 23 assists and 16 fast break points.
Chris Bell: A
After his disastrous day yesterday, Chris Bell was in desperate need of a bounce-back game. That’s exactly what he had. The sophomore had a team-high 18 points and went 4-8 from deep. Bell also added on five rebounds.
Quadir Copleand: A
Another guy who needed a bounce back game really stepped up. It felt like the sophomore had a chance to maybe get a triple-double and while he didn’t quite reach that mark, he did have 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Copeland also had a block and stela on the defensive end.
Bill Walton : A+
I know this might not be the most popular thing to say, but I love Bill Walton. The just overall chaos with him on the call, when its the 7th place game of the Maui Invitational which tipped off at 9:30pm is perfect. I’m not asking for Walton on the call for every game, but he’s fun to have in moderation.
