Ok, that’s not how we drew it up.

Look, is there any reason to panic? Not necessarily.

More than likely, along with Kansas, Kentucky and Duke – Syracuse will end up being the fourth one-seed. Obviously, coming into a season unranked, Orange Nation will take that.

Was the Georgetown loss deflating? Yes. The Hoyas seemed to stay confident against the zone – and when a team is not rattled (see Louisville, twice) the vaunted SU defense seems pretty pedestrian.

But the ‘Cuse committed to the press far to early in the second half, allowing a push of easy baskets that kept the Hoyas at a two possession lead. Two extra days off (instead of playing blood bath Big East tourney basketball until Saturday) is not the worst thing in the world.

Wes can get his hand right. K-Jo can get his legs right. And the team can focus on the real prize – a Final Four in three weeks.

But the Onuaku injury is scary. He is the beef inside on the 2-3. He provides experience, rebounding and a defensive presence in the paint. Obviously, the Orange you could least afford to lose for the tourney is Wes. But A.O. might not be far down on that list.

Yes, the Orange boat is taking on some water. But the ship isn’t sinking – yet.

The Fizz needs to breathe. We now shelled out $100 to go watch freaking Georgetown vs. Marquette. Screw the Hoyas.

Everyone take a few days. Recoup.

We’ll talk again on Monday.
