Durell Eskridge is a three-star wideout considering Syracuse, among other schools he hopes to get offers from.
Out of Miami Central in Florida, one can only hope he doesn’t take his talents to South Beach.
Lucky for SU, the ‘Canes don’t have an offer to the kid. Yet.
Miami Central has a habit of producing pros. Najeh Davenport, Willis McGahee, hell, even Ronnie Belliard the baseball player.
Syracuse would be wise to open up a pipeline in the school, especially when Doug Marrone has been attacking the Sunshine State like it’s his job (well, it is part of his job).
On to Eskridge:¬†At 6’1″ and 190 pounds, he’s the kind of tall, vertical target the Orange could really use in the future. Right now, Van Chew carries that title, and is playing well with it. The team is set up with a great possession guy in Alec Lemon, who is a hard worker and unafraid of contact.
I’m sold. How about other D-1 programs? Florida, LSU and Miami have shown interest, but have no offers out yet. FIU is high on the kid and has an offer to him. In addition, the Big East isn’t represented solely by Orange; Cincinnati is looking at Eskridge too.
And don’t forget about old SU nemesis Doc Holliday at Marshall. Watching the Week 2 battle between the Thundering Herd and WestVa is a sign that Marshall is legit, and ready to get serious again.
This wide receiver could be a prime pick.
