With Isaiah McDuffie decommitting from Syracuse, the Orange’s 2017 recruiting class now has zero members from the state of New York. Below is a list of recruits from the Empire state that have drawn interest from SU, according to Scout.com.
Ethan Wiederkehr: The 6’6’’ Shoreham offensive lineman visited Syracuse and was offered in August. Northwestern is currently the favorite to land him, per 247sports.com
Olakunle Fatukasi: SU may be recruiting Fatukasi, but Rutgers is making the biggest push for the Brooklyn linebacker. He has visited the Scarlet Knights three times already. Fatikasi’s main recruiter at SU is Mike Hart.
Eric Coley: Coley’s a local cornerback product out of Fayetteville-Manlius. He was offered by SU in February, but Rutgers, Bowling Green and Toledo are also high on the defensive back.
Jeavon Lessey: Boston College is the early favorite to land the services of the Brooklyn defensive end. Syracuse has recently gotten involved as well.
Noah Jordan-Williams: SU fans know all about this Christian Brothers Academy wide receiver. The question is, will Jordan-Williams elect to stay home or leave to play at Penn State, BC, Rutgers or UConn?
Terrell Alexander: The defensive tackle plays at Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx.
Souleymane Camera: Camera also plays at Cardinal Hayes. He is a defensive tackle, but undersized at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds.
Shameen Jones: Syracuse wants this kid. Jones plays as a wide receiver and safety at Cardinal Hayes. SU secondary coach Nick Monroe visited with Jones May 17th, per 247sports.
Christian Anderson: The fourth recruit to draw interest from SU out of Cardinal Hayes. Anderson plays as a dual threat quarterback.
Dan Damico: Another local kid, Damico plays at CBA as a linebacker and tight end. He visited SU, but has not yet received an offer.
C.J. Turner: Old Dominion is the only school to offer the Rochester receiver so far, but he’s attended over 15 satellite camps in an effort to get noticed. He’ll more than likely be at some of the ‘Cuse camps this summer.
Damian Ostaszewski: The Staten Island lineman visited Syracuse earlier this year.
Kyle Schreiner: SU’s old staff was a big fan of Schreiner and it looks like the Orange’s new one is as well. The Fairport offensive lineman visited Syracuse in February.
