2017 Wide Receiver Amonyae Watson Seriously Considering Syracuse

He plans to visit in July.

Amonyae Watson learned that Syracuse offered him a scholarship Wednesday morning.

“Coach Hart told me to call him and he told me about the offer that morning,” Watson told the Fizz via a direct message.

SU is the ninth offer for the Virginia native, but Syracuse is high on his list.

“I have serious interest in SU,” Watson said. “I watch them play all the time and they have a great tradition and a great atmosphere.”

Vanderbilt is the only other Power 5 school to offer the 6’2,’ 175 pound receiver. The Orange’s rigorous ACC schedule has played a big role in Watson’s interest.

‚ÄúPlaying against some great competition and possibly becoming a better person and player at SU gets me excited. The coaches believe in me and I’m grateful for that.‚Äù

As mentioned above, Syracuse running backs coach Mike Hart is Watson’s primary recruiter. Back in May, Hart visited Watson in Virginia and has kept in touch with him routinely since then.

Watson plans to visit Syracuse in July.

SU has been linked with quite a few receivers so far this cycle. After Sharod Johnson committed in April, the two main wide out targets for SU have been CJ Holmes and Eddie Lewis. Now Watson can be added to that list. You can watch his film here.
