Syracuse “Has Some Buzz” with 5-Star Huntley-Hatfield

Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has become a name Syracuse fans are very familiar with. The 5-star power forward is one of the top recruits nationally in the 2022 Class. While this season has been filled with disappointment and anxiety (part for the course) on the floor, the recruiting momentum has been a bright spot.

Recently Mike McAllister at SI.com projected what a potential ’22 Class might look like for the Orange. At the middle of it, BHH. The 6’9″, 230 lb. flyer is a consensus top 10 player in his class. He’s got offers from powerhouses like Baylor and Kansas. Kentucky and Florida are also interested. And add in Auburn, Wake and Tennessee for good measure. Tall odds for SU.

But McAllister says there’s “some buzz” for Jim Boeheim’s staff.

“Prior to Syracuse offering, Huntley-Hatfield had a top five. When Syracuse offered, he expanded it to a top six and the Orange have had some buzz here ever since. Syracuse has remained in constant contact, conducting multiple zoom calls and showing him how much of a priority he is for their 2022 class.”

Most believe that Ole Miss is the leader right now. He has taken an official visit to the Grove and knows the staff closely. 247 Sports says Syracuse is “getting warmer” in their pursuit. The good news is BHH says he wants to wait to make a decision until after his visits. That gives SU a good chance to make a solid impression in person. The win over UNC last night is a step in the right direction of gaining some good vibes at the end of the season. Any meaningful games in March are welcome while trying to land elite prospects.
