Was Last Night Judah Mintz’s Final Game In The Dome

Judah Mintz’s legacy at Syracuse is one that will be talked about for a long time. The point guard was a late but highly-rated commit. It’s hard to find a group of SU players who have been through more turmoil than this year’s squad. With the departure of Jim Boeheim and the first year under Adrian Autry, Mintz and co. have been through a lot. At the start of the season, the sophomore was being talked about as a guaranteed NBA draft pick, and a potential first-rounder. A lot of people thought that he was going to leave the 315 for the NBA draft offseason before Mintz decided to return. Will he return this offseason though?
There are multiple factors to that question. The first one is what does his draft status look like. Mintz has completely fallen off the draft boards across every publication. ESPN’s most recent 2025 mock (next years draft) has Mintz as a late second-rounder after his junior year. If that’s how NBA scouts see him, then there’s no way he leaves for the league this year. However, Mintz said after last night’s win over Virginia Tech that he had thought about that being his last game in the Dome.

Rumors have already started to swirl about Mintz leaving to the transfer portal. Once the season comes to an end, those will pickup and the conversation will arrive if that is what’s best for both parties. But, it is something to keep in the back of your mind through the final few games that this could be the end of the road for Mintz in the Orange. As much as it may hurt to see there are a lot of places he could end up, including the Hoyas in his hometown DC. It’ll be interesting to follow what the young guard decides to do this offseason.
