Marrone in on Pennyslvania DT Simmons George Powers

‘Cuse recruit Delvon Simmons is one of the best defensive tackle prospects in the Northeast.

Simmons is a Pennsylvania kid, which is a state Doug Marrone has tried to reestablish since claiming the Orange throne.

Need evidence of such? Sophomore Zach Chibane and freshman running back Dom Timbers are both guys from the Keystone State, one of the most productive football recruiting states (with New Jersey) in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

There was also Shane Raupers… ¬†better to just refrain talking about him. Kicker Ryan Lichtenstein is from PA too.

However, the ‘Cuse is in against the big boys for Simmons, a three-star player who has offers all over the Eastern seaboard, including Pitt. Steel City football is religion and Simmons is from nearby McKeesport (pictured).

If the Panthers come calling hard, don’t expect to see Simmons in Orange. However, if coach Marrone can nab this prospect, you could see a trend in the Big East (or whatever conference these teams end up being in).
