Just like his pal Augustus Edwards, the decision of Ebenezer Ogundeko will be broadcast live on MSG Varsity’s website. New York State’s top football recruit will choose between Syracuse, Notre Dame and Florida Tuesday at 11:45a.
MSG Varsity will stream it live on MSGVarsity.com. Last week, it was terrific to see Gus don the Orange hat in real time. The feed had some glitches early, and was troublesome to load at the beginning. But by the time the Staten Island running back made the announcement, the stream seemed to work perfectly fine.
Props to MSG Varsity for bringing fans the live feed. It shows the advancement of the recruiting scene. In 2012 these announcements, even in the non-traditional hot beds of NYC, are being broadcasted to interested fans. It also underscores just how impactful Edwards and Ogundeko’s decisions are on the trail. Fans have been clamoring over these two players for awhile, and Ogundeko specifically has two of the most influential programs in the nation after him. And Edwards’ family was able to shine a little, sharing in the spotlight and wishing him well. It was an organically cool moment.
Advice: Make sure you have a little time to cut into your lunch break Tuesday. Edwards’ decision was delayed about 20 minutes. Likely Ogundeko’s doesn’t start at exactly 11:45a either.
