With spring practices officially ending, the Orange coaching staff will now focus solely on recruiting. Many commits attended last week’s spring game to see their new team in action. Troy Henderson Jr, a 3-star linebacker from Cleveland, Ohio, was also at the Dome for the game. He has offers from Syracuse, Toledo, Bowling Green, Cincinatti, Akron and Kent State and will make his admission decision in the coming months. Henderson Jr. joined the Fizz Radio airwaves this week to discuss the spring game, Coach Shafer and everything Syracuse.

On meeting some of the 2014 recruits at the spring game
“They gave me some advice, told me not to rush anything, to take my time. They told me about the experiences they’ve had at Syracuse, how fun it was and how much they like the coaching staff, the fans, and the people around.”
On his Division I offers
“Everything is open right now. I still have high interest from some schools that haven’t offered yet. But right now I really like Syracuse. Being up there, I really enjoyed the visit.”
On his senior season at St. Edwards High School
“[I’m working on] taking over the team, being a team leader, being a coach on the field, leading the team to a state title, maybe even a national title. I always dream big…at St. Edwards we’re going to try and put everything together and get a ring.”
On Scott Shafer
“He’s an Ohio guy that was really cool. We know some of the same people… …Me and Coach Shafer, it’s an Ohio thing. We got that type of connection. We’re hardworking, we get after it.”
On Orange legend Floyd Little
“He’s a good person. He’s really funny. He was telling me that there are people here who care about me…It was really cool meeting a legend, a Hall of Famer. One of the best running backs, arguably, to play the game ever.”
